How to Change Door Handle and Door Lock?
If the door locks of your house need to be changed, there are certain simple steps to be followed and you can change them by yourself. Some of the door handles have inbuilt locks. If you wish to change the lock you may have to remove the door handle and then proceed with the rest of the work.
Check for the brand of the door lock and make sure that you replace it with the same brand so that there is no need to make any modifications. Measure the backset of the door, unscrew the existing lock and pull the lock out along with the screws. Next step is to insert the new lock into the space and screw it tightly to the door.
Make sure all the screws are in place and the lock is not loosely screwed. It may make the knob to come out when pulled. To complete the installation, front and he back sides of the lock have to be put back together with screws. If you removed the door handle too, screw it back to the door.
